Carbon literacy training for supplier teams who keep getting asked about carbon
A one-day carbon literacy course for UK and Irish suppliers. Your team learns how emissions work, where your own business's carbon comes from, and what to say when a customer, a tender or an EcoVadis analyst asks. Fixed fee per group, agreed before we start.
What is carbon literacy?
Carbon literacy is an awareness of how everyday activities, at work and at home, create carbon emissions, along with the ability and the motivation to cut them. The term comes from The Carbon Literacy Project, which certifies people who complete about a day of learning and commit to two actions: one personal, and one that involves others (carbonliteracy.com).
Why does a supplier team need it?
Because the questions no longer stop at the sustainability lead. Sales get the tender question. Procurement gets the supplier survey. Operations get asked why the energy bill jumped. A team that understands carbon gives consistent, accurate answers, and spots savings nobody was looking for.
It also counts as evidence. EcoVadis looks for environmental training, and NHS Evergreen and Carbon Reduction Plans ask what you're doing to cut emissions. A training record with names and dates is easy proof.
What does the course cover?
- How greenhouse gases warm the climate, in plain numbers
- Scope 1, 2 and 3, using your own business as the example
- What your customers ask for and why: EcoVadis, Carbon Reduction Plans, CDP and NHS Evergreen
- Where the carbon, and the cost, sits in your operations
- Each person's two actions: one for themselves, one for the business
Can staff be certified as Carbon Literate?
Yes, when the course is accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project, which reviews each learner's evidence and issues the certificates itself. Tell us when you book if you need certificates, and we'll confirm the accredited route and the certification fee for your group.

Carbon is now part of everyone's job. Book a call and we'll shape the day around the questions your customers actually ask.
